چکیده

We present results from an experimental investigation on flow boiling, in the slug regime, of refrigerant R245fa through a 12.6-mm inner diameter horizontal plain pipe using particle image velocimetry (PIV) and interface detection method. The study is supplemented by overview state-of-the-art research two-phase dispersed flows development modern optical laser-based full-field nonintrusive measurement techniques as applied to these flows. consider different conditions, with heat fluxes over range 5.3 7.9 kW/m2 mass 300 460 kg/m2 s. Significant disturbances instantaneous velocity fields are revealed both noses tails slugs, their values being two times higher behind vapor bubbles. passage frequency determined based bubble found increase linearly interfacial mixture, while its gradient grows flux. Moreover, at increased bubbles may move even faster than mixture itself, which implies that they must significantly enhance local turbulence, thereby additionally intensifying transfer. This demonstrates applicability diagnostic boiling flows, such methods have not been widely macroscale geometries. In addition conclusions, we provide practical recommendations for possible future this particular field fluid mechanics further sophisticated similar,

Modeling of A Single Turn Pulsating Heat Pipe based on Flow Boiling and Condensation Phenomena

Demand for high-performance cooling systems is one of the most challenging and virtual issues in the industry and Pulsating heat pipes are effective solutions for this concern. In the present study, the best predictor correlations of flow boiling and condensation are taken into account to model a single turn pulsating heat pipe mathematically. These considerations, result in derivation of more ...

Slug genesis in cylindrical pipe flow

Transition to uniform turbulence in cylindrical pipe flow occurs experimentally via the spatial expansion of isolated coherent structures called ‘slugs’, triggered by localised finite-amplitude disturbances. We study this process numerically by examining the preferred route in phase space through which a critical disturbance initiates a ‘slug’. This entails first identifying the relative attrac...

Stability analysis of stratified two-phase liquid-gas flow in a horizontal pipe

This study aimed at linear stability analysis of the stratified two-phase liquid-gas flow in a horizontal pipe. First, equations governing the linear stability of flow in each phase and boundary conditions were obtained. The governing equations were eigenvalue Orr Sommerfeld equations which are difficult and stiff problems to solve. After obtaining the velocity profiles of the gas and liquid ph...

Stationary core-annular flow through a horizontal pipe.

A theoretical investigation has been made of core-annular flow: the flow of a high-viscosity liquid core surrounded by a low-viscosity annular liquid layer through a horizontal pipe. Special attention is paid to the question how the buoyancy force on the core, caused by a possible density difference between the core and the annular layer, is counterbalanced. From earlier studies it is known tha...
